“Since taking office in 2016, the Jones Administration has displayed a tremendous amount of admiration and respect for our veterans. The first step in ensuring the city could stay connected with Elwood veterans was to find someone to serve as a liaison. Without hesitation, I selected Elwood resident and Vietnam Veteran, Johnnie Wilson, who still today continues to serve as the link between our local veterans and the mayor’s office. Over the years, we have attempted to find various ways to acknowledge and express our humble thanks and gratitude. Veterans Park and the Veterans Brick Program are our most recent accomplishments honoring all those who have served.
Our sincere hope is that our veterans never forget just what they mean to the entire City of Elwood and that they will continue to receive the unwavering love and support of this administration and a grateful city!”
